Camp Veritas is a camp for Catholic youth (Grades 7-12), held from August 15-21, 2010 at Camp Lakota in the foothills of the Catskills, NY.
Camp Veritas was founded in 2008 by Danbury resident Ryan Young. After two very successful years and great reviews, the camp's guest list has grown to over 100 youth. They are seeking VIRTUS-certified young adults to serve as camp counselors during their week-long event in August. Whether you can serve for the full week, or even just a day or two, "veteran" Veritas counselors promise an unforgettably rewarding and fun* experience.
http://www.campveritas.com
The objective of the camp is to provide an exciting and relevant foundation of our Catholic faith to the youth as their critical transformation into adulthood begins. This life-changing journey will lead the participants to experience the love of Christ, challenging each camper to ask the question: Jesus Christ, do I love You? Through this Catholic experience, our youth will grow in Wisdom and Courage, building the Catholic leaders of tomorrow.
Camp Veritas will provide a journey to Christ and a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith through an intense fellowship immersion with other youth. Daytime activities will focus on fun team-building activities such as swimming, volleyball, soccer, softball, basketball, boating, roller hockey, and go-carts. Evening activities will include focused spiritual instruction and discussion, energetic music for praise and worship, daily Mass, testimonies, and silent adoration. The spiritual support team includes the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, the Sisters of Life, and Priests from the Archdiocese.
Please contact Ryan Young at ryan1@campveritas*com or (845) 266-5784 (evenings) if you have questions or would like to volunteer as a counselor.
[*Editors note: Induction into WAAANINJA is purely voluntary, subject to credit approval, may cause itching, and is only legal in the 48 contiguous states. Consult your physician. Better yet consult your chiropractor.] ;-) |

Bob Lesnefsky is Catholic Rap performer who does great work with Catholic youth. A graduate of Franciscan University at Steubenville in his early 30s, he performs and records music under the name "Righteous B," and he's been involved in a ton of youth conferences and programs across the country. Bob unexpectedly suffered a stroke on 9/19/2009 and is just beginning his recovery process as the doctors try to figure out what happened. His wife and family are requesting prayers for his recovery, and donations are also welcome as Bob is self-employed in his work in service to the Lord. He is beginning physical therapy and has a long road of recovery ahead. Up-to-date info can be found at http://www.prayfortheb.com/. |
