Come and join us this Saturday night for the last Catholic Underground CT event before we break for the summer! We're bringing you a special guest this month to help us close out an awesome second season!
Date/Time: Saturday May 16, 7:30PM Location: St. James Church, 896 Main St, Manchester. Website: www.CatholicUndergroundCT.com Admission: Free, with a free-will offering About Sean Forrest: Sean Forrest is a former Baptist who converted to the Catholic Church in 1995. He is grateful for his Baptist upbringing, but thrilled that God has led him home to the Catholic Church. Sean and his wife, Julie, live in Connecticut with their three young children – Liam, Erin, and Hannah. Sean has a deep love for God and the Church, and works every day to spread that love and the Truth of the faith through his talks and music. He is honest about his own sinfulness and conversion, and shares, “It scares me how I could be given so much by the Lord and still so easily sin against Him.” Sean is an average guy who is trying the best he can to hear the Father’s call and do His will. About Mission Haiti: Sean Forrest, founder and president of Movin’ With The Spirit, Inc. Mission Haiti is a ministry of MWTS that seeks to faithfully serve the many needs of the poor and strengthen the villages of Duverger and Dandann, Haiti, by building an orphanage, school and health clinic. This four‐phase building program began with the idea of creating a holding ministry to physically embrace the orphaned children of Haiti. It has since evolved into a broad mission of community, as the MWTS team partners with the hardworking people of the villages to make these projects a reality. It is a mission of hope. As the project develops, the community will open its doors to receive and provide hope for the many less fortunate children from other places where the children are in misery. Whenever possible, MWTS is working directly with local merchants to stimulate the local economy. Already, several parcels of land have been donated by two local families, showing the community's enthusiasm to sacrifice and invest in this project. With the necessary tools and support, and built on a foundation of faith, these villages can become models of health and success for other communities across Haiti. About Holy Apostles Chapel Project: The Holy Mass and the daily rhythm of psalmody in the Liturgy of the Hours centers and empowers the work of cultivating lay, consecrated and ordained Catholic leaders for the purpose of evangelization that is the mission of Holy Apostles College & Seminary in Cromwell CT (where Sean currently studies). Having lived with a converted tool shed as a chapel for 50 years, Holy Apostles is looking forward to a new and larger chapel oriented to the East to meet the Risen Son. The ground was broken on May 1, 2009 and the chapel will be completed in spring 2010. |
